Samsung's New Home Theater Systems Offer 2D to 3D Conversion and Tube Amplifiers
Thu Jan 05, 2012 at 02:00 PM ETTags: Samsung, Home Theater Systems, Blu-ray Players, Home Theater In A Box (all tags)
You'll also find built-in Wi-Fi and access to Samsung Apps.
Samsung has been making some changes to its home theater systems in the last few years and this year's models are certainly taking things up-market a bit.
The company's new home theater systems - the 7.1 channel E6730W and 5.1 channel E5500W - include more than just the traditional receiver and speaker combination. For starters, they pack a Blu-ray player that does 2D to 3D conversion so you can enjoy your existing Blu-rays with a bit of extra pop.
More interesting though is the addition of tube amplifiers to the higher end E6730W. The system combines "The crystal clear sound quality from a digital amplifier with the warmer tone qualities of vacuum tubes." The tubes are visible from the front and top of the system too, giving you a piece of hardware that's bound to impress some folks.

Samsung Reveals New Home Theater Systems
Thu Mar 11, 2010 at 02:00 PM ETTags: Samsung, High-Def Retailing, Home Theater In A Box (all tags)
New Samsung HTiBs will be hitting the shelves over the next few months, including the sub $1,000 3D capable HT-C6930W.
The general rule is that if you’re willing to put in the money and effort, separate components make a better home theater. Samsung’s new systems may not be the exception, but they’re incredibly attractive at the price.
What may be the most appealing option in the line is the HT-C6930W. It’s got a built-in DSP for vertical sound, 1080p DVD and Blu-ray playback, 7.1 channel surround sound and the ability to play back 3D Blu-rays. It comes out this April at $899.
The most powerful of the upcoming HTiBs is the HT-C7530W. It sports a Touch of Color that’s nature inspired and features a warm, wood-grain texture. It’s a 5.1 channel system, but it’s got a total of 800 watts pumping through it. It comes equipped with a Wi-Fi dongle and a gig of built-in memory. You’ll be able to pick this one up in May.

LG Announces New Blu-ray Home Theater System

The HB954SP features a Blu-ray player, 1000W of power across 5.1 channels, and some rather unusual speakers.
LG’s new Home Theater in a Box does everything an entry level HTiB really should do. It sports a Blu-ray player that lets users view Blu-ray and upscaled DVD content in full 1080p. It plays music from an iPod or iPhone, but not video. It streams videos from YouTube and offers USB playback.
The HB954SP features a pair of HDMI inputs so that other sources such as game systems and DVRs can be hooked up, and offers 5.1 channel audio. The system is designed with ease of use in mind, and even allows a simple shutoff for the subwoofer so “you do not wake sleeping children,” according to the press release.
The system comes with a subwoofer, two surround speakers, and one speaker each for the L/C/R channels. The somewhat egg shaped black speakers look a bit odd, but of course the sound is what truly matters. Boasting 1000 watts of power, the HB954SP should have no shortage of kick.
The HV954SP will be available this November. No pricing has yet been announced.

Samsung’s High End Blu-ray Home Theater in a Box
Thu Jul 23, 2009 at 02:00 PM ETTags: Samsung, Home Theater In A Box, Industry Trends (all tags)
Coming in at just under $800 this August!
Samsung announced on Tuesday that this August will see the release of their HT-BD3252, a higher end home theater solution with some great features. With 1000 watts of power pumping through a pretty sizable pair of front speakers, an expanded center and a pair of wireless back speakers all using Samsung’s bio kelp speaker cones, the audio coming out of this system will be more than enough for most consumers.
The Blu-ray player integrated into the system is BD Live compatible, and while it does have an Ethernet adapter, a usb dongle is required for wireless connectivity. Customers will have access to Netflix, Pandora, and starting this fall, Blockbuster OnDemand.
Most HD audio formats will be supported, according to Samsung, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and with the Auto Sound Calibration (ASC) Feature, speakers will be adjusted to their optimum output at the touch of a button.
The HT-BD3252 comes stock with a decent range of inputs, including a pair of HDMI ins, an optical port, composite connections, and even an iPhone/iPod cradle with an on screen display for easier browsing.
