Sony Yanks 'Meatballs' from Blu-ray Menu
Mon Apr 23, 2007 at 10:01 AM ETTags: Street Date Changes, Sony (all tags)
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has pulled the planned Blu-ray release of 'Meatballs' from its release schedule, with no new date yet scheduled.
The classic Bill Murray comedy was first announced late last month for a June 5 Blu-ray debut.
The studio gave no reason for the delay, but an eventual release is still expected with no changes to the already-announced basic specs and supplemental features.
The next-gen release was slated to include a newly-remastered 1080p transfer, uncompressed PCM 5.1 track, and a new retrospective documentary featuring director Ivan Reitman and other members of the cast and crew.
We've moved 'Meatballs' to the "Release Dates Postponed" section of our Blu-ray Release Schedule, and will keep you posted on a new date as soon as it is announced by Sony. Stay tuned.
