The acclaimed independent buddy cop movie will arrest Blu-ray in January.
In an early announcement to retailers, Sony has slated 'The Guard' for Blu-ray on January 3.
The crime comedy that was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival stars Brendan Gleeson as an unorthodox Irish policeman with a confrontational personality who is teamed up with an uptight FBI agent (Don Cheadle) to investigate an international drug-smuggling ring.
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include: Commentary with John Michael McDonagh, Don Cheadle, and Brendan Gleeson; The Second Death featurette; Making of The Guard featurette; Outtakes; Deleted and extended scenes; and Q&A with Cheadle, Gleeson, and McDonagh.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is still undetermined at this time.
