Sony Readies First Two Music Titles for Blu-Ray

Hoping to expand the variety of Blu-ray disc offerings, Sony BMG has
announced it plans to release
the first two music titles on the format, reports Home Media Retailing.'Rod Stewart: Live at the Royal Albert Hall' and 'John Legend: Live at the House of Blues' are both scheduled to debut on Blu-ray shortly after the format's first players are released by Samsung later this month, the studio announced.
Both titles were shot in high definition, making them "ideal candidates" to be released on the next-gen Blu-ray format, HMR reports.
"These dynamic concerts from John Legend and Rod Stewart have all of the immediacy and excitement of a live performance, giving fans high-definition video and uncompressed sound for an extraordinary entertainment experience," said Thomas Hesse, president of Sony BMG Music Entertainment’s Global Digital Business unit.
