'Children of the Corn' to Stalk Blu-ray this July

Stephen King's 'Children of the Corn' are ready to slice into high-def, with Anchor Bay announcing a late-July Blu-ray bow for the '80s slasher "classic."
Produced on a shoestring in 1984, the minor box office hit defied critical carvings to go on to spawn over a half-dozen direct-to-video sequels (each one, it seemed, worse than the last).
To honor the film's 25th anniversary -- and just in time to promote a new theatrical remake -- Anchor Bay will release 'Children of the Corn' on Blu-ray July 28.
Newly remastered, tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer disc with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video (1.85:1) and English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio.
Among the newly-produced extras is audio commentary with director Fritz Kiersch, producer Terrence Kirby and actors John Franklin & Courtney Gains, an "It Was The Eighties!" interview with Linda Hamilton, a trio of featurettes ("Stephen King on a Shoestring," "Welcome to Gatlin: The Sights and Sounds of Children of the Corn," "Harvesting Horror: The Making of Children of the Corn"), a trivia track, still gallery, original storyboard and title sequence art, and the theatrical trailer.
We have yet to receive a confirmed suggested retail price from Anchor Bay, but we'll keep you posted.
